Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MaiNeu mobile application, the maineu.com website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by MaiNeu ("we", "us"). By downloading the app, creating an account, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

MaiNeu uses artificial intelligence to translate restaurant menus from photographs, identify potential allergens, and present the results as an interactive menu. All translations, allergen information, dish descriptions, and prices shown in results are AI-generated interpretations of the photo you provide. They may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect, and are provided for reference only. The Service does not replace confirmation with the restaurant.

You may need an account to use certain features. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. You must meet the minimum age described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Certain features are unlocked through in-app purchases made via the app store from which you downloaded the app (e.g. Google Play). Billing, payment processing, and refunds are handled by the applicable app store under its own terms and refund policies. We do not store your payment card details. For purchase issues, contact the app store first; for anything unresolved, contact us at the address in Section 11.

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) upload content you have no right to use, or content that is harmful or infringing; (c) attempt to probe, overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure; (d) scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute Service output as a dataset or competing service; (e) reverse engineer any part of the Service except where permitted by law.

You retain all rights to the photos you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service, consistent with our Privacy Policy. The Service itself — including software, design, branding, and curated regional cuisine knowledge — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable laws.

Read this section carefully if you have a food allergy. Allergen information provided by the Service is generated by AI from a photograph. It can miss allergens, mislabel dishes, or fail to account for kitchen practices such as shared oil, utensils, or preparation surfaces. It is not medical advice and not a safety guarantee. Always confirm ingredients and preparation directly with restaurant staff before ordering. If you have a severe or life-threatening allergy, do not rely on the Service as your only safeguard. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for allergic reactions or other harm arising from reliance on AI-generated content.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence provides otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page (and, where feasible, in the app) with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
